About Me
I’m Phil, a personal trainer and behaviour change coach for over 15 years.
I am based at Body Conditioning, a beautiful private studio gym nestled within the picturesque South Harting. Here, our mission is to cultivate holistic health and wellness.
My journey into personal training commenced unexpectedly 16 years ago. Initially drawn by my own pursuit of fitness for sports, I found myself intrigued by the prospect of working as a gym instructor. As I progressed in this role and pursued certification as a personal trainer, I discovered the profound impact I could have on individuals enhancing their fitness levels.
However, it was not until 2015 that I gained a profound understanding of the paramount importance of health. Enduring the challenges of two hip replacements, one of which posed life-threatening complications and almost loosing a leg, instilled in me a deep-seated appreciation for the significance of physical well-being. This experience ignited an even greater desire within me to empower others to lead fulfilling lives through fitness and health, and to embrace the opportunities that arise from pushing personal boundaries and embracing new challenges.
Always keen to learn more, I've delved into the world of working with people with Parkinson’s disease, an area that has truly captured my focus and passion. Starting my journey into this field under the guidance of the esteemed physiotherapist, Bev Ball we now collaboratively run three weekly Parkinson’s classes, aimed at empowering individuals with tailored strategies to confront the challenges posed by the condition.
Additionally, I engage in one-on-one sessions geared towards mitigating the progression of the disease and enhancing the mental well-being of those afflicted.
Beyond my clinical pursuits, I am an avid enthusiast of hiking expeditions, undertaking rigorous training regimens to prepare for such endeavors. Notably, my most recent excursion led me to the majestic terrain of the Himalayas, where I summited a 6200m mountain, a testament to my enduring passion for outdoor exploration.
I am currently studying sports massage, an area I would like to add to my services within the next 12 months.
